WELCOME TO NATIONAL
POETRY MONTH!
Ahh! It is Casa Zia Productions’
favorite time of year! Spring breathes the newness of life. Birds sing
harmonies to greet the dawn, flowers bloom into cascading robes to cloak Mother
Earth, new rains quench thirsts desert long and poets inscribe humanity, depth
and essence into being; birthing revelations, journeys, heart and soul to
nourish the minds of a multitude. This time, this season, is National Poetry
Month!
It is always a pleasure to promote
such a literary experience as poetry for:
‘Poetry is what in a poem makes you laugh, cry, prickle, makes your toe
nails twinkle, makes you want to do this or that or nothing, makes you know
that you are alone in the unknown world, that your bliss and suffering is
forever shared and forever all your own.’
Dylan Thomas, 1914-1953, author of Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, (1951).

In addition to supporting our Poet
Laureate during National Poetry Month, why not expand your collection of poetry
by sharing poets such as Alice Friman (Vinculum, LSU Press,
2011, The Book of the Rotten Daughter, BkMk Press, 2006) and discovering
new poets of your own.

Or better yet, create your personal
poems and host a poetry reading to entertain your family and friends. Invite
them to bring their own favorites and join in on the fun. For more creative
ideas on how to keep poetry alive, visit the Academy of American Poets
